In low-light situations, a tripod or monopod is used with a camera to reduce or eliminate image blur; However if you travel without such equipment, there's a old trick simple solution the 'string monopod'.

The device is simply a looped cord that's attached to the tripod screw of the camera. Stand with your feet in the string loop, Pull the camera in order to get some tension which helps to keep the frame steadier than holding the camera freehand.
I you get a long teleobjective lens, you can even make a loop around the lens which will again increase the stability (removing one degree of rotation).

The monopod comes with a wrapping coil so that everything is in order inside your camera bag...

When the monopod is installed on the camera, you might as well wrap the string around the lens, than block the wire in the screw...

print both the bolt and the wrapping coil.

• drill the bolt
• cut 2x your size of fishing line (I use Dolphin 168 Braid fishing line). You may as well use kite string. It shall be strong and not strechable)
• double the string and insert the two ends inside the screw (the loop shall be at the head of the screw)
• make a knot
• attach the wrapping coil (just make a loop with 2 wires)
