3D model Three Interlocking Boxes by pmoews on Thingiverse

Description

The top and bottom halves of these boxes are identical. Boxes are formed by locking two halves together. The boxes are all derivatives of a polyhedron with 14 faces; 2 hexagons and 12 pentagons. The three versions are differently scaled. OpenSCAD code is included.

Instructions

The boxes were printed with PLA on a Replicator using 0.3 mm layers and 2 shells.
To form a box press two halves together. The basic polyhedron's fit is tight and it is difficult to open. Use an electronic case opening pry tool for the basic polyhedron. The elongated version can be twisted and then pulled apart. A thumb nail can be inserted in the join of the flattened version and the other thumb used to grasp a point and pull the box apart. A more easily opened basic form, basic_sphere_1_6.stl, has been added.
