Descrição
(Revision 2024) This is a version of Ender Dragon by Intentional3D, published on Jul 14, 2014.
Initially I printed the model with the given files, but found problems with the assembly:
- some parts broke easily (in particular the ball joints)
- spent almost half a kilo of filament
- too much time spent printing
- too much time spent with the assembly
- add to drill the tail and neck, and use a string, in order to keep it together.
So I´v made some changes to the model turning it more "printer friendly".
Less parts, Less post printing assembly.
Instruções
Layer heigth - 0.2 mm
Print Speed - 50 mm/s (first layer 30%)
Perimeter, Top, Bottom - 4 layers
Infill - Honeycomb 20% (general parts)
Infill - Honeycomb 10% (body)
No need for support - some parts need small cuts after printed:
- connections
Important features:
-The tail and neck are now printed in ONE piece.
-The legs (front and back) and the wings are printed already assembled. (just need to force them a litle)
-Tail, Neck and Wings are ready to insert a 2mm wire thru them in order to give them some stability.
Changes 2024:
- Every part (head, neck, tail, legs) now uses a connetion part, so if the connection is too tight or too loose you just need to print the connection in a diferent scale.
- Neck and Tail no longer need work after print.
- Every gap has been reduced.
- The silver dragon in the images was printed in a 70% scale.
WARNING:
Printing in a diferent scale will block or loosen parts the that are printed already assembled.
To give it steadiness you may need 2x 40cm 2mm wire (i used copper from electric wiring) to use along the tail/neck and left to right wings.
You should print individualy each of the front and back legs.
