Every body who owns "BattleCON - Devastation of Indines" knows that the storage solution is a complete waste of brain energy. So I set out and designed a worthy insert with following advantages:

• Quick access to characters and their tokens.
• While traveling everything stays in place (shake-test safe).
• Plenty of room for additional characters (12 should fit).
• Easy to assemble (no glue needed).

Obviously you need one of those expensive laser cutters. I would recommend that you check out the nearest Fab Lab. If your are at a university where architect students roam around ask them about their laser cutter. Most architect faculties have a laser cutter which can be used by students.

Material

Best results are with 3mm High Density Fiberboard. It needs to be 3mm thick for the plug connections to work.

Files

You can edit the SVG files with Inkscape or any other vector graphics program. Inkscape also supports exporting to DXF which is useful for some laser cutters.

To download the correct file you need to know the laser kerf, which defines how much material the laser evaporates. If you are using an industrial grade laser cutter, like Eurolaser, I recommend using the kerf014mm file otherwise use the kerf025mm file for DIY laser cutters like the Lasersaur.

Line colors

The SVG contains lines with different colors:

• Green: Is an engraving and should not be cut! Use laser settings for 1mm HDF. Also this lines should be lasered first.
• Red: Holes of bigger parts. Those should be cut first because the part could move if it is cut out before the holes.
• Black: Contours of bigger parts, should be cut last.

Assembly

Look at the pictures in the gallery. Some force is needed for assembly. A rubber hammer will be your friend.
