And the 3d printer saves the day yet again!

A family member lost the back to a wrist watch. It was a watch he enjoyed wearing and has been searching real hard on the internet for a replacement back. I offered to try and print him one.... half expecting to fail miserably.

To my surprised, it actually worked really well. The replacement snaps in and stays in! You can tell I wasn't expecting it to work because of the bright blue color I printed in. :]

I know this is definitely not a permanent replacement. And I didn't have an o-ring or anything so I doubt it would fair well in a wet environment. But it is a good solution so he can wear the watch while looking and waiting for a replacement to arrive.

I don't expect anyone has the same watch and if they do, I wouldn't expect that they lost the back to it. This is more of a proof of concept.

I wanted to post it because I was so amazed that it worked and hopefully, it will inspire someone else to use this temporary fix one day if their watch breaks.

The scad file and .stl file generate four different backs. Each one with a different method I thought might work for getting it to snap in. Turns out, Back1() and Back2() or the ones with the little cubes or triangles sticking out of the rim worked the best for snapping in.

The other two, didn't work at all. They were tapered outward toward the top, and it just didn't end up working out.

So, if you have a citizen watch that looks like the one pictured. Use the backs with the tiny cubes sticking out or the tiny triangles sticking out!
