This is a simple and adjustable diffuser for LED flashlights. It comes handy when the flashlight has too narrow beam and much wider or softer light is needed.

The flashlight with the diffuser can be for example hung from the tree branch or from the top of the tent to illuminate wider area.

(Note however: I cannot really recommend this particular flashlight - it is stated to have 2.4A circuitry and 1000 lumens, but in fact it gives only about 600 mA to the LED, which corresponds to about 250 lumens for Cree XM-L T6. Other than that, it is well built and works OK.)

Print it using a white material, of course :-)

The best way is to download the OpenSCAD source, and adjust the parameters near the top of the file to fit your needs. The provided .stl file is for the ZSJ-T29 flashlight.

The main parameter to be adjusted is ring_d - the diameter of the flashlight head. Add some more space around it (I have added 1.0 mm).

Then it is necessary to set clip_h - the height of the clips above the print platform. The particular value depends on where excatly does your flashlight have narrower place for clips to hold on.

The diaphragm parameter describes the thickness of the diaphragm - thicker means less light coming through, thinner means the danger of not very solid diaphragm. I used 0.5 mm, which is exactly two print layers (I use 0.25mm layer height).

The other parameters can be left intact, or adjusted when really needed.
