This egg cup is a result of a request from a gold and silversmith to make the ideal egg cup. Originally the idea was to design something that had the spoon and salt in it, so you couldn't forget it.

My idea was to make it in 14 karat gold and that would be enough reason not to forget the spoon and salt as they were also designed in 14 karat gold B-)

The design has no filled on the edges, which makes it look thin expensive and elegant.

This object was made in Autodesk 123D Design as a non-technical thingy. The Helix (as it is not an option within the program) is created by creating a loft of rectangles 30 degree steps and intersecting it with an egg.

You can create an L class egg (4.5cm x 6cm) to combine a circle with an ellipse. One of the remarkable things in nature is the mathematical formula behind the simplest things.
