Descrição
Attachment for multimeter leads that allows for one-handed or even hands-free measurements of components.
It's handy when you need to quickly test a resistor -- just drop it on the pads and read -- no fumbling with trying to pinch the probe tips and resistor leads with your fingers. Things with parallel leads can easily be jabbed into the pad.
Basically a small box stuffed with conductive fuzz (bronze wool, copper wool, brass solder tip cleaner, copper scouring pad, etc) that makes good contact with both the banana jack and a component resting on it.
My photo shows two with bronze wool and one with a copper scouring pad. They both work equally well.
Instruções
The box prints in two halves which snap together. Put the banana jack and bronze wool in before snapping together.
There are two cross braces which are meant to help hold the wool in the box -- the wool should go under them, and then have some of wool pulled up and over them. Try to tuck the wool in the sides so little pokes out (you don't want wool from two boxes touching).
Make sure the wool is making good contact with the banana jack (measure it with your meter -- it should be near zero ohms, or at least as close as your meter will get to zero).
You might want to mirror one box if making a pair (as shown in my photo)
There is a dimple on the bottom for a 1mm x 10-12mm rare earth magnet to keep it from sliding around or for mounting vertically.
