A parametric model for creating a mount for a wide range of devices including motors, gearboxes and rotary encoders.
All the significant properties of the model can be changed, allowing for most common devices to be accommodated.
Customisation ranges from the minimum required to suit your device, to full nauseating detail.
It features options for full or half size mount, a hole through the base to secure it with a cable tie, an option for mounting feet and countersunk mounting holes.
There is a vertical cutout in the base to reduce printed material.
Instruções
Essential parameters to change are:
- Diameter and length of device.
- Diameter of "collar" or shaft.
- Number, PCD and desired diameter of mounting holes.
- Height of centre of device body above base.
All dimensions are in mm.
---OPTIONS---
OFFSET SHAFT: Some gearboxes (eg Pololu 37D range) have output shafts that are offset from the centerline of the motor. This can be accommodated by changing the 'Shaft Offset' variable. Make sure you check if the 'Rotate Holes' variable needs changing, as some gearboxes have the shaft closer to a mounting hole, while some will be closer to the gap between them.
MOUNTING FEET: The mounting feet can be turned on or off, and will automatically add feet the longer the mount is. They are always 5mm thick, however the hole diameter can be changed, and the surrounding material thickness and location will change accordingly.
FULL SUPPORT: When turned off, this option allows only a half size support to be printed. This is only suitable for low torque applications (eg rotary encoders) and can save some weight and printing time.
SCREW COUNTERSINKS:
Mounting screw countersinks can be included. Particular useful when there is little space between the shaft end and the mount. Just add in diameter and depth of counter sink required.
