This is a model of a simple cubic unit cell showing how only partial atoms are included in the unit cell proper. The intended purpose of this thing is to use in a chemistry or materials classroom so that students can see the 3-dimensional aspects of the crystal structure. One possible use of this thing is to print multiples of this model so that they can be stacked to show how unit cells add to generate an extended lattice.

I printed this with 2 shells and a 10% infill with a raft. It worked perfectly.
