Modelo 3D "First Men in the Moon" Sphere Ship por xboxdragon1964 no Thingiverse

Descrição

Here is my rendition of the Sphere Ship from the classic "First Men in the Moon" movie loosely based on a Jules Verne story. The ship uses retractable shutters coated with Cavorite, a gravity-blocking substance invented by the eccentric inventor Joseph Cavor in the film. The idea was if gravity was blocked it would allow the ship to fly off the Earth without any engines or fuel and the gravity of the moon would pull it toward it (and vice-versa), depending on which shutters were open/closed. Since it had no retro rockets to slow it down completely, the outside is covered in "railroad bumpers" all around to absorb the impact on landing.

I've split it in half for easy printing and separated the many bumpers as I didn't think they'd print well as part of the sphere. The windows are also separate so you can easily print them with transparent filament.

PS: If you hear an annoying guy yelling "Gibbs! GIBBS!!!" from inside the sphere, don't open it. ;-)
