A game show buzzer I built for my classroom. Host runs python script on Pi Zero W connected to class TV. Students are in teams of 6. Each team gets a Pico W "client" Each student gets a buzzer pendent that are in parallel. Geopardy Trivia ensues! Fusion File attached.

This project is a fully wireless, scalable game show buzzer system built around the Raspberry Pi Pico W and a Raspberry Pi Zero W host. It’s designed for classrooms, trivia games, or any fast-response competition where you need a reliable “first buzz wins” setup. Each team gets a Pico W-based controller with multiple buzzers. When any player presses a button, it sends a signal over WiFi to the Pi Zero W host, which instantly locks out all other teams and displays the winner.

Parts Used • Raspberry Pi Pico W (one per team) • Raspberry Pi Zero W (host) • Push Button Switch 12MM Self-Locking Round Button • Momentary push buttons • RJ-45 Keystone Jacks (check fit some are wider than others) • 2N2222 NPN transistors (LED drivers) • Resistors (LED current limiting + transistor base resistors) • 3W LED modules • Schottky diodes • 18650 battery + holder + charge controller board
