I really liked the cable catcher design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3706, I had some difficulty finding an adhesive that would attach it sufficiently to my desk surface. I initially thought about just remixing it with a bigger base, but the other thing I noticed was that, in my case, the cable catcher was being stressed in a rotational plane as well. Even though it was a bit bulky, I decided a standard skateboard bearing would work well, as it would be a fairly accessible option for most people.

The model consists of three parts. First is the original cable catcher, which is linked in this posting. Second is the base - a standard skateboard bearing should friction fit into it snugly, and it is large enough that a good two-sided tape should be able to secure it to your surface; alternately, there are holes you can use to attach it via screws (I recommend pan-head - it's not thick enough to accommodate countersinks). Finally, the top part of the base is designed to friction fit into the inner part of the skateboard bearing. The original cable catcher is glued to this top part, allowing for rotation.
