Many folks/my wife have these common yarn winders that seem to have the same spindle attachment. She was using a yarn spinner to hold her yarn as she crochets, but it frequently got caught on spindle, so I designed this spinner to recieve/work with the spool from the commonly used store bought winders. For example this works with the Loops & Threads winder found at Michaels , but many on Amazon have the same build and are called something else. Just print out one copy of each part and multiple copies of the spool . Then wind your yarn on the spool and store or use right away on my spinner. If you prefer or haven't had a chance to wind some yarn and need a spindle, just use my attachment spindle addon and you got the best of both worlds. Uses a 3D printable 6803 bearing or order a real metal 6803 bearing. Using the spool helps you go straight from winder to desktop spinner. As the yarn unwinds and gets close to top it just spins over the top of spool and doesnt get caught. If you print out many spools, you can use them to hold your yarn directly from the winder. They fit and no need to tranfer yarn to spindle or spool, just print spool , attach to winder , wind yarn , remove and attach to spool to spool base or store for later use.
