I didn't see any all in one arcade stick Raspberry Pi project plans out there that were free and/or well documented -- so I designed my own. This uses a Raspberry Pi and iPac2 keyboard emulator, so it can function as an all in one console - or just a joystick, depending on how you'd like to use it.

The top and bottom are laser cut plexi, the side supports are 3D printed. See the instructions for more detailed information.

The top and bottom plexiglass parts were designed in Illustrator, based on button layouts for the Sega Astro City cabinets (player one), which are very comfortable. Big up slagcoin, as that site has everything you'd ever want to know about joysticks: http://slagcoin.com/joystick.html

The 3D printable side supports were designed in Tinkercad online. They are 3 inches high, but that height could be adjusted if you want something low profile. For me, it's a comfortable fit and allows easy access the the Pi and iPac. There aren't mounting holes on the bottom plexi, as I used Scotch fasteners (think plastic velcro) to attach them. I used machine screws because the tops are rounded and feel more comfortable. The ones around the joystick don't bother me at all, even after playing a while. Finally, see the parts list for the rubber bumpers. It's a nice touch on the bottom and it keeps the screws of the table and your joystick in place firmly on a table.
