Descrição
Remix of DaveMakesStuff's "Dynamic Shoulder Rotator Cuff Education Model"
+ Is your shoulder bothering you?
+ Time to see the doctor?
+ Time for Physical Therapy?
Print up this model and show them right where it hurts. You can even show them with the model "Doctor, It hurts when I go like THIS"
AND, a great gift for that Med Student in your life, (and ALL doctors are Med Students) I gave one to my physiotherapist and she said "THAT is very cool"
IF you are a Med Student, THEN you might want to review the references with additional models.
SHORT ANSWER:
+ Split/remixed the Scapula into a "Top and Bottom" for easy printing. + Simplified assembly + Added references for this and other models.
MEDIUM ANSWER:
There are two reference models that are NOT meant to be printed. 1. Shoulder_Muscles.stl shows the separate muscles and the scapula bone. 2. Shoulder_Strings.stl shows how the parts come together, and the three loops for the elastic.
The other STLs are the five parts of the model (including the stand).
They were printed with brims, and 10% infill, but no supports.
To speed up prints, I printed in 0.3 layers with no bottom layers (bottom thickness=0)
There is also a ZIP included with the original individual parts (mostly unmodified)
ASSEMBLY:
1/4 " (6 mm wide) polyester-rubber elastic (20" = 50 cm) 3 mm diameter nail to help line up parts 20 gauge (0.8 mm) wire
- Print the model parts (brims, 10% infill, no supports, (see 1-Shoulder-parts.jpg) .
- Super Glue the Top and Bottom Scapula together (see 2-Shoulder-Top-Bottom.jpg) Use something like a 3 mm diameter nail to help line up the top to the bottom. Use a file or Dremel rotary tool along the seam to smooth/blend the two parts together .
- Loosely thread three loops of 1/4" (6 mm) elastic through the Scapula and Humerus Head
- See "Shoulder_Strings.stl" on the paths of the loops
- See "3-Shoulder-threading.jpg" on how to use a piece of wire 20 gauge (0.8 mm) to help. .
- Tighten each loop and knot it closed. (see 4-Shoulder-knots.jpg) Trim any excess elastic from each knot and Pull/Tug each loop so the knot slides into its hole. .
- The Humerus Shaft will intentionally NOT fit into the Humerus head. Use a file or Dremel rotary tool to round edges and open the hole so it is a tight fit. Do NOT glue so you can fix/replace the elastic if needed. You may wish to tuck the wire inside the Humerus Head for future use.
