I've decided to make this CNC from spare parts to see if I was up to the challenge. This was very, time-consuming and it is still a work in progress, but it is enough to make a first publication to see if people like it and maybe even contribute to it.
The total cost is around 150€, it also requires several hours of printing and assembly.
This project aims at making an affordable CNC that can be built with many common parts you might already have lying around: here you can find the bill of materials.
This machine is made to accept two common formats of copperclad board I can find online, which are 10x7cm and 5x7cm. It is a relatively slow machine (but it could be improved), and it can achieve some decent results but it also depends on the quality of the board itself. It is also a very loud machine and does require eye protection, ear protection and a respirator mask.
