This is for Digital Indicators that have a vertical screw mount in the rear (see gallery photos). I made it for use with my Digital Headspace gauge for reloading (Innovative Technologies).

The jig is a fixture to mount in the bracket that comes on the Headspace gauge. Unless you have that specific instrument, you don't need it. If you do, print it out and glue in a 9mm bullet (I used a Berry's 115G LRN). The copper jacketed bullet allows for very free gliding across the build plate and also adds weight so it tracks well. Again, unles you have this specific instrument, you don't need it. You will have to make something for the end of the indicator you buy.

The bracket is braced at each end so it should be very stiff and won't allow for flex due to the weight of the instrument and probe.

Should fit Taz 4 and 5 (I have a Taz 5).

I printed it out in ABS with .15mm layers and 15% infill in the base and 30% infill in the indicator mounting tab (part that sticks up).

To use, heat bed to normal printing temps (to account for swelling and warping at working temp).

Move to the front left corner and zero.
Move to the front right and adjust hex screw until dial reads 0.
Return to front left and re-confirm zero.
Move to the back left and adjust hex screw until dial reads 0.
Return to front left and re-confirm zero.
Move to the back right and adjust hex screw until dial reads 0.

Confirm all 4 corners and make any minor corrections.

Finally check the center to confirm its near 0. It may or may not be zero depending on if your bed is sagging a little. At least you will know and by how much :)
