Descrição
Print-in-place robot doorknocker for a Halloween door contest. The face is as original as a basic cartoonish robot face can be, but the hand is https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/print-in-place-low-poly-hand with minor greebling and tweaks. I found that the first set of joints tends to fuse, but that's okay for this application.
Face and hand are separated this way to maximize how big a print you can get. Printing the largest piece diagonally gives you the biggest overall model. You can scale it up, but if you make it much smaller parts may fuse. If you want alarming red robot eyes, print the inserts and pop them in.
Supports
- Hand: Supports (for the wrist only; ideally use a support painter)
- Face: Supports
- Strike plate: No supports
- Eye inserts: No supports
** Post-printing** After printing, make sure the rollers on the hand spin fairly well and then glue them into the matching hollow. Be careful to only glue the spinners. If you want the hand to make a fist as shown, fold the fingers together and glue the joints; if you want them to dangle creepily, they do that all by themselves. Glue or friction fit eye inserts, if using.
