You will need to purchase a 150mm metal ruler from Temu/Aliexpress for cost saving, UHU would be safe choice and 100% recyclable design. 23min print Each. PetG or ABS for best life spam.

After printing, clip the 2 parts together, then slide the 150mm/6inch ruler in place. you may use UHU to further secure the ruler as its a loose Tolerance.

New shorter one for 100mm rulers, cheaper and more versitile.

Further more, I did make it left handed first but decided to make it both which you can mirror. Also I did try magnet version But it wasn't secure and magnets brushed out the writing on the ruler. I wanted to gift it to all Open-source, Makers and Teachers. But will hate to see it on Temu like others so I did technically brand it BGK.
