I'm in editing mode and my desk is a mess. I have a bunch of different pens and pencils and paint brushes I use for different things, and I'd like to organizer them. Trying to get away with my recent obsession with dragons and not wanting to do another random castle, I wanted to get back to something that reminds me of the kind of writer I want to be. So, since The Dark Tower is one of my favorite series, I thought I'd do a pen holder in a shape that's reminiscent of The Dark Tower. (and as I'm writing this I've realized that I forgot to put a turn grip on the hidden compartment in the bottom. Hidden compartments are another obsession of mine. So I took a second and added that in for those who sometimes lack hands... like me.) Right. So I put a few choice descriptions into meshy, and got a lot of really cool designs out, but none of them were perfect. It had a lot of difficulty with the Ouroboros on the ghost wood door. Lucky for me re3dprinting had an amazing design for one. Thank you re3dprinting!!!! This Ouroboros is actually from The Wheel of Time, which is awesome considering the themes of both those series. The ouroboros are like little nods to The Neverending Story. (I should state I have no Idea what order those books were published in. ) Anyway, I just shrank it and put it on the door. I pulled a lot of different aspects from the ai generated models and mixed them into this one to get the best Dark Tower representation. Unfortunately it's a lot simpler than the one with winding impossibly tall towers of insanity branching off it, like in the story. But I did my best, including the roses at the base, the ghost wood door, narrow slit windows, and of course the symbol of the unfound. Thank you again re3dprinting! There were a lot of stray pieces floating around which I did my best to get rid of. Though I may have missed something. I haven't had a chance to print this yet, because I just designed it, and I'm printing a giant cat for my son for his birthday. So the working printer is taken. But I hope I can sneak it in tomorrow. It is just a pen cup. It shouldn't take long at all... right? I'll probably print it in black, and do a gray wash over it and maybe some rose red for the flowers, Next time I think I'll do another of the towers for a pencil cup, maybe the Ivory Tower. Gotta appreciate the pillars of imagination right?
