Titles: Pharaonic Puzzle Floating Narcoleptic Guardian

• Composition: A chimeric Elder Dragon created by Wyveria, combining: • Body: Fusion of Kushala Daora and Lunastra, with Somnacanth fins on the back for aerial stability. • Tail: Seltas Queen, used as an anchor, stinger, or axe, positioned in the safe zone. • Head: Somnacanth, with a neck frill contributing to width. • Front Limbs: Fusion of Kushala Daora, Lunastra, and Somnacanth. • Back Limbs: Fusion of Rathian and Lunastra. • Wings: Primarily Kushala Daora, with elements of Rathian and Lunastra. reasons, head: Somnacanth is based on ningyo which has a human head, main body: Lunastra is based on a lion which Manticore's body also has lion as its main body tail: Seltas Queen, closely related to the scorpion's tail only pick seltas tail due to the tail is more versatile at grabbing wings: Mix between Rathian and Kushla, i decided to include Kushla as it would need powerful wings to help get out of the ground since with extra long tail be extremely heavy back limbs: decided incorporated some of rathain's back limbs to make it look more like a chimera front limbs: decided to keep the somna fins for the front limbs thinking it would help it be more agile in the air.

• Size: • Full Body Length: 2341.4189 cm (~23.41 meters or ~76.8 feet) • Body Length (without tail): 975.4852 cm (~9.75 meters or ~32.0 feet) • Tail Length: 1365.9337 cm (~13.66 meters or ~44.8 feet) • Tail Length (severed): 700.8051 cm (~7.01 meters or ~23.0 feet) • Height: 525.0397 cm (~5.25 meters or ~17.2 feet) • Width (including wings and neck frill): 2678.14 cm (~26.78 meters or ~87.9 feet) • Width (without wings and neck frill): 690.5482 cm (~6.91 meters or ~22.7 feet) • Main Elements: Blast (via explosive dust and blastnados). • Secondary Elements: Poison (tail and claws), Sleep (fangs and some tornadoes). • Weaknesses: • Lightning: Extremely effective, causes misfired brain signals leading to self-damage with its tail and accidental grounding when attempting to fly. • Ice: Moderately effective.

Lore: • Purpose: Engineered by Wyveria to weaken and subdue other Elder Dragons using narcotic toxins, acting as a biological control mechanism. • Reawakened when the Gore Magala infected the Dragontorch, but immune to the Frenzy Virus due to its Elder Dragon blood.

Reason for Existence and Lore

Mantlecore was created by Wyveria as a specialized predator to neutralize Elder Dragons, using narcotic toxins (Sleep via fangs and some tornadoes, Poison via tail and claws) to incapacitate targets. Its Somnacanth fins on its back provide aerial stability for pursuing airborne Elder Dragons like Amatsu, despite its massive size (~23.41m long, ~26.78m wide with wings). The Kushala-derived lungs and air sacs generate tornadoes (blastnados or Sleep-inducing), stabilized by the Seltas Queen tail (~13.66m, ~7.01m when severed) anchoring in the safe zone. Its Lightning vulnerability (causing self-damage and accidental grounding) and narcoleptic tendencies from constant toxin exposure highlight flaws in Wyveria’s early chimeric experiments. Mantlecore lay dormant until the Gore Magala infected the Dragontorch, triggering its reawakening. Its Elder Dragon blood grants immunity to the Frenzy Virus, ensuring it remains unaffected by the infection that revived it.

the Mantlecore encounter, the Hunter first faces a Chaotic Gore Magala on the plains. One of its horns is broken, and during the fight, Alma notices it seems drowsy and weaker than usual. She suspects it’s still recovering from its transformation. Upon defeating it, Alma observes that the Gore Magala was attacked with explosives and poisons. The Hunter suggests poachers may have failed to capture or kill it. However, closer inspection reveals crush wounds, as if something picked it up and ragdolled it across the ground, along with numerous cuts. Something feels off—they find traces of wylk crystals and suspect a Guardian Arkveld might be responsible. They search for a Guardian Arkveld in the area but find nothing. Alma suggests tracking another Gore Magala to investigate what’s attacking them, as Chaotic Gore Magalas have been appearing more frequently over the past few days.

The Hunter follows a Tempered Gore Magala into Wyveria. As it searches the area, Stalking Shadow suddenly stops, and all the Guardians go into hiding. Dark scaled beast roars into the sky, and a creature responds, rushing down from above. It uses its tail to grab Magala, injecting it with poison and thrashing it around. Despite its condition, the Gore Magala’s winged arms allow it to grab the tail and slam the Mantlecore into the ground, knocking it unconscious. The Tempered Gore Magala then uses its Frenzy attack to damage the Mantlecore, but it doesn’t wake. Writhing in pain from the poison, the monster covered in darkness charges in as it roar, Awakening the Mantlecore. Using its tail like an axe, the Mantlecore knocks Magala back. As it slowly rises and stretches its wings, spreading the explosive dust into the area. The Dark eclipse got back, its face wounded, twitching in pain sense that Mantlecore is open so it charges in for the kill. The Mantlecore ignites the explosive dust with its tail, dealing heavy damage and breaking Magala’s wings, leaving its body severely damaged. The Mantlecore then grabs the wounded Magala by its neck with its tail, pulls it close, and breathes on its face, putting it to sleep as it then drops on the floor. The Chimera Turn its head toward the Hunter and Alma, the Mantlecore creeps forward sluggishly, scanning them. It realizes they are not Keepers but invaders, detecting that the Hunter has killed a Guardian Arkveld and many other Guardians. Enraged, it attacks the Hunter.

Phase 1: Abilities and Mechanics

• Poisonous Tail (Seltas Queen): • Delivers Poison status through strikes or venom injection, enhanced by its long tail (~13.66m). • Acts as an anchor, embedding into the ground to stabilize Mantlecore during tornado attacks, preventing it from being blown away. • When anchored, the tail is in the safe zone, where no tornadoes occur, making it a prime target. • Tail Break Mechanic: Must be broken twice to sever, reducing the tail to ~7.01m, eliminating anchoring function. • Post-Break Stinger: After breaking twice (before severance), the tail’s grapplers are disabled, allowing it to be used as a stinger to inflict Poison. • Axe-Like Attacks: The tail can be used like an axe, delivering heavy strikes; post-severance (~7.01m), it retains this ability but with a smaller hitbox and reduced damage. • Post-Severance Effect: After severance, the tail cannot sting, loses anchoring, and Mantlecore becomes clumsy, affected by its own tornadoes. • Lightning Weakness: • Lightning causes misfired brain signals, leading Mantlecore to: • Damage itself with its tail (e.g., striking itself or the ground with its ~13.66m tail, or ~7.01m if severed). • Accidentally anchor itself to the ground when trying to fly, grounding it prematurely. • Self-damage may ignite explosive dust, amplifying harm across its wide wingspan (~26.78m). • Poisonous Claws: • Claws, influenced by Somnacanth, Kushala Daora, and Lunastra in the front limbs, and Rathian and Lunastra in the back limbs, inflict Poison status, making melee combat risky at its height (~5.25m). • Narcotic Fangs and Tornadoes: • Fangs in the Somnacanth head inflict Sleep status, posing a threat during close-range attacks. • Kushala Daora lungs and air sacs generate tornadoes from the Somnacanth head’s mouth: • Blastnados: Most tornadoes pick up explosive dust, inflicting Blast status and pushing hunters away. • Narcotic Tornadoes: Some tornadoes, without dust, mix with narcotic saliva to inflict Sleep. • The Seltas Queen tail anchors Mantlecore in the safe zone, allowing hunters to avoid tornadoes and target the tail or body. • Explosive Dust: • Released from the body, ignited by a tail spark striking the ground, causing Blast status. • Incorporated into blastnados, increasing their danger. • Lightning-induced self-damage or accidental grounding may unintentionally ignite dust, harming Mantlecore. • Aerial Weakness: • Somnacanth fins on the back provide stability in flight, critical for controlling its massive frame (~26.78m wingspan). • Kushala Daora air sacs cause excess air buildup, making aerial movement sluggish and vulnerable. • Hard strikes during flight (similar to Valstrax cooldown) trigger an explosion from overpressurized air sacs, grounding Mantlecore. • Lightning damage exacerbates this by causing accidental grounding via tail anchoring. • Half-Asleep State: • Constant narcotic saliva from its fangs causes a near-narcoleptic state, leading to sluggish or erratic movements, amplified by Lightning-induced self-damage and grounding. • Weakness Exploitation: • Prioritize Lightning weapons to trigger self-damage and accidental grounding. • Ice weapons are moderately effective. • Target the tail (~13.66m, ~7.01m when severed) in the safe zone during anchored tornado attacks to eliminate poison and anchoring.

Phase 2: Abilities and Mechanics

• Narcolepsy Removal: • Mantlecore overcomes narcolepsy (possibly via adrenaline), becoming more aggressive and precise. • Attacks increase in speed and frequency, challenging despite its size. • Softened Body: • The Kushala Daora-Lunastra body (~9.75m without tail) becomes more vulnerable, enhancing Lightning, Ice, and Poison weapon effectiveness. • Lightning remains critical, causing self-damage and accidental grounding if the tail is intact (~7.01m if severed). • Super Narco Nova (Final Attack): • Mantlecore generates a massive narcotic tornado around itself, trapping hunters across its wide area (~26.78m wingspan). • Releases explosive dust, ignited by a tail spark (if intact), causing a Blast and Sleep explosion. • Post-attack, Mantlecore is immobile, offering a critical damage window. • Environmental Effects: • Narcotic mist from the Super Narco Nova inflicts Sleep if hunters linger. • Affected areas become hot (like Lava Caves) with poisonous steam patches.

Combat Strategies

  1. Weapon Choice: • Prioritize Lightning weapons to exploit extreme weakness, triggering self-damage and accidental grounding. • Ice weapons are a moderate secondary option. • Poison weapons are effective in Phase 2 due to the softened body.
  2. Status Management: • Carry Antidotes for Poison from tail strikes, stinger (pre-severance), and claw attacks. • Bring Energy Drinks for Sleep from fangs and narcotic tornadoes. • Use Nullberries for Blast from explosive dust and blastnados.
  3. Phase 1 Tactics: • Use the safe zone beneath Mantlecore, where the anchored tail (~13.66m, ~7.01m when severed) is located, to avoid blastnados and narcotic tornadoes and target the tail or body. • Break the tail twice to sever it (reducing to ~7.01m), eliminating anchoring and stinger ability, and making Mantlecore clumsy and affected by its tornadoes. • Deal heavy Lightning damage to trigger self-damage and accidental grounding, targeting the Somnacanth head or body. • Exploit narcoleptic stumbles, air sac explosions (triggered by hard hits during flight), or accidental grounding.
  4. Phase 2 Tactics: • Adapt to increased aggression post-narcolepsy. • Survive the Super Narco Nova by dodging or using terrain cover, then attack during immobility. • Avoid narcotic mist and poisonous steam.
  5. Aerial Combat: • Somnacanth fins on the back ensure stable but sluggish flight, making aerial patterns predictable. • Lightning damage causes accidental grounding, reducing aerial attacks. • Target sluggish movements to trigger air sac explosions, further grounding Mantlecore. • Use Seikret (if a mount/tool) to navigate blastnados or narcotic tornadoes and counter aerial attacks.

Additional Notes

• Design Flaws: Narcolepsy, air sac vulnerabilities, tail dependency, and Lightning-induced self-damage and grounding highlight Wyveria’s flawed engineering. • Visual and Behavioral Notes: The Somnacanth head with neck frill, Kushala-Lunastra body with back fins, long Seltas Queen tail (~13.66m, ~7.01m when severed), and hybrid limbs/wings create a massive (~23.41m long, ~26.78m wide) yet unstable creature. Its narcolepsy, self-damage, and accidental grounding add unpredictability. • Role in Ecosystem:
sleep majority of time, as most constructs ands monster avoid wakening it up, but Ebony will wake it up and attack, only wakening it up due to dragon energy, it will wake up and use the tail and grab Ebony and throw Ebony of its back. it is extremely territorial with elder dragons, so wyveria only create 1 Mantlecore to prevent it from killing each other unique turf wars: Ebony Odogaron Gore Magala Chaotic Gore magala young Arkveld

fun fact when i was making this me and my friends thought it look similar to Brachytrachelopan, and also another fun fact the mantlecore as itself when fully combine 3d maker, crashed my computer.
