Modelo 3D Board Game Riser - Elevate your game! por chesamo no Thingiverse

Descrição

Love playing board games, but can't seem to find enough room on your table between character sheets, snacks, and tableaus? The Board Game Riser is here for you! Print as many pieces as you need, snap them together, and enjoy your newfound table space!

Three sizes have been rendered, depending on your needs and your print bed. Each tile has nine possible mounting locations for the foot, and there is one tile in each set with all nine mounts on them. Please note that the three sizes are NOT compatible with each other. Only the 120mm plates have been uploaded to Thingiverse since it doesn't allow folder organization; please see this model on Printables for the 160mm and 200mm versions.

The tiles in the photos are 120mm square.

Foot location diagram

Each tile is numbered 1-12. The number determines where the foot post will mount. Generally speaking, you'll want the foot posts as far out as you can on the edge layer of plates, with the posts in the center (tile 5) for tiles in the middle. Tile 10 has all nine foot mounts, tile 11 has a ╳ formation (1, 3, 5, 7, 9), and tile 12 has a ✚ formation (2, 4, 5, 6, 8).

A 3x3 square grid labeled from 1 to 9, starting with 1 in the top-left going to 3 on the top right. Each lower row follows the same pattern.

Instructions for setup

  1. Decide what size you need (you can find some ideas below). The great thing about the Riser is that you can always come back and print more tiles if you want! If you're not sure what size you'll need, print four of tile 11 and a handful of tile 12, both of which have multiple options for mounting the foot.
  2. Print 'em all, making sure to print one foot for each tile. Supports will be necessary.
  3. Arrange your tiles and side pieces such that tabs and slots match.
  4. Starting from one side of the Riser and going to the other, snap the tiles together top to bottom, then snap each column together.
  5. Snap the sides onto the appropriate edges, if you printed them.
  6. Screw each foot into place.
  7. Flip the Riser over.
  8. (Optional, protogens and anthroids only) Enjoy a yummy snack with all the supports you'd otherwise throw away as a reward for a job well done :)
  9. Bask in the awe of your friends for having such a cool way to improve board game night.

Basic configuration needs

Below are some sample configurations for the Board Game Riser along with what you'll need to print to make it happen. You don't necessarily have to print exactly what's listed (you can replace all corner tiles with tile 11 and all side and middle tiles with tile 12 and they'll work just the same), but for ease of printing I've kept all the tiles in the same orientation assuming one foot mount per tile.

New! v2: Screw-on feet

I noticed that the press-fit starts to get a little loose after repeated use. To fix that, I've released the new v2 version, which has screw holes instead of press-fit. I've also created a conversion kit to use v1 tiles with v2 feet. (Unfortunately if you printed v1 feet they're no longer compatible—sorry!) Nothing else changed besides the foot mount, so you can continue to use the sides and tiles you've already printed just the same. I've included feet that are 5mm shorter so you can print regular feet to use with the v2 tiles and the shorter feet with converted v1 tiles. I recommend printing the shorter ones in a different color or change filament color so you can tell them apart easily.

To convert, print the adapter and use glue (not recommended) or a hot piece of filament (heated with a soldering iron or heat gun) to press-fit and fix it into place.

The new v2 uses BOSL2's screws library.

Parameters

The `.scad` file has the following parameters, editable in OpenSCAD:

`piece`: Switch between tile, side, or foot (default `"Tile"`) `size`: Scale the tile or side (default `120`) `tileThiccness`: How thicc the tile is at its thinnest point (default `2.0`) `footHeight`: How tall the foot should be (default `150`)

Have a picture of the prototype I printed using magic PLA on a PEO plate for maximum sparkle:
