Hi, this is a simple Padel Racket made to be modular, so there's more chance to reprint broken things. The top is made hollow to ease extraction of the supports.
I printed these with PETG, with these important parameters:
- Handle : make 5-6 layers of wall and top/bottom layers to make sure it is sturdy and strong. this will add weight but 3 layers will break. infill is up to you, anything 20-30% should be good enough.
- Head : i printed 3 wall layers, which is good enough for a few games without power shots. but printing ~5 wall layers might be best.
- the top cover, you can make it light, not that important.
- pins : orientation matters.
Finally, I also include a test piece, so you can test your parameters on a less commitment than the full model. it has holes, overhangs, the thickness of the racket head frame. etc.
once its done and cleaned. you can fill the 30mm void with foam of your choice, EVA might be a bit hard to fill in direct, I suggest a few layers of foam if you are using sheets. Make sure its full fitting, gaps will make the face easier to break. I tried using construction foam/PU spray foam to have a full fill, it works quite well, but be a bit conservative on the amount. To0 much fill will add internal stress and crack the frames.
next iteration : I am preparing one without the hole on top. and print using CF PETG. It will be a pain to remove the supports, but I guess it does not need to be super clean if you are filling using PU spray foam. it will also remove a weak point from the top hole.
