RepRapMicron is the next small thing from The RepRap Project. It is a 3-axis 3D printer mechanism that is accurate to a few microns with a feature size of 10μm-20μm. It is designed to work with standard 3D printer and CNC controllers, and be built by the average 3D printer or CNC enthusiast.

It achieves this by using 3D printed flexures for precise movement, and deposits droplets of UV resin (and other materials) on a glass microscope slide with a fine probe tip - something that can easily be made thanks to a clever electrolysis trick that works itself.

It has a build volume of 4mm x 4mm x 4mm. To give you a sense of scale, the "FAB" cover photo has a human hair on the left side. As it makes such small things (a) you will need microscopes, and (b) the probe tip can also be used to manipulate objects.

While the hardware works, the software is in an early state of development. It can deposit arrays of droplets based on a PNG image, and there is a rudimentary PrusaSlicer filter.
