Modelo 3D Cilium Cipher Decoder Wheel por RedHedDesign no Thingiverse

Descrição

UPDATE #3 (20/01/2026): I've added a blank code key on request for those who want to put their own symbols/alphabet on the keys :) enjoy!

--

UPDATE #2 (28/05/2025): A couple of users brought to my attention that there was still a duplicate symbol! Doh!!! I've now fixed it, there shouldn't be any more. I also uploaded STL files for each of the pieces, as well as individual code pieces in case you just want to reprint the duplicate one.

For those asking for a redesign for smaller printing... yea that'd be great but I just don't have the time to execute and test that redesign right now. When the tolerances are adjusted, each symbol has to be re-placed manually on each symbol. I would also want to print it on a resin printer to test, which is not an option at the moment.

For those asking for a regular alphabet version instead of the symbols, similarly I will say I don't really have the time to change the design that significantly right now. Thanks for your interest anyways!

**NOTE: If you downloaded this when it was initially uploaded, there was a mistake in the Codes model where there was a piece with duplicate symbols. This has since been corrected. **

This is the culmination of a few years of ideas, learning CAD, loving puzzles and being an all around nerd.

I love the idea of a decoder wheel but I was always a bit dissatisfied with standard code wheels as being unchangeable in their coding, meaning they are relatively simple to decode once you've figured out the substitution. If you and your friend are trading coded messages, all a 3rd party needs is to temporarily gain access to one of your wheels and write down the substitution.

My design allows the alteration of the key such that there are about 50 trillion combinations (13!x2^13) so you and your friend can come up with a way to alter your keys consistently to encode your messages further. Each symbol pair can be moved around and flipped. The entire alphabet can also be offset by changing the position of the letter wheel.

The cipher from which the glyphs originate (document attached) also allows the symbols to be drawn in a few different ways, allowing even more variation in how messages are encoded if you so choose.

I printed the parts on a Bambu Lab P1S 3D Printer with no supports.

*If you like this design and end up using it, PLEASE consider leaving a tip as it took a lot of work <3 *
