Modelo 3D Battery powered Minecraft lantern por bingwhip no Thingiverse

Descrição

I had some spare ESP8266 NodeMcu Mini, and really wanted these lanterns to have soul lantern, and other options. Really all that's used from e_grnsmnn's design was the glass panels, scaled up 120% to make more room for electronics, and I think the slightly bigger size is nice anyway.

I'm not an expert on these microcontrollers, so the easiest way to deliver power was buying a USB breakout board with solder points. The switch is almost a press fit, but I added a little hot glue to make sure it stays seated. For the battery contacts, after sliding them into place, I used a torch lighter to heat up the plastic tabs and press them down into it a little. After getting them working and tested, I used a dot of glue on the tops of the pillars to lock it all in place, and under each light panel to prevent any rattling.

Lights can be controlled with the WLED app by either adding the device to your wifi network, or connecting directly to the ESP with your phone to it's own network. On my first test, I got about 7 hours constant runtime on a charge, with the lights at about 50% brightness (Plenty bright for what they're designed for)

Printed with supports on just to support the bridge where the battery door slides into place.

I may do a revision that adds a 2nd button to allow switching through color/effect presets without the app.
