Descrição
I designed this extruder cooler for my Replicator 1 based on one main need: I use a removable glass build plate affixed with springy metal clips. These clips stick up off the build platform and will hit anything slightly lower than the gantry. Because of this, I designed this to shoot a jet of air just below the tip of the nozzle, but keeping the whole apparatus above the base of the gantry.
It's designed to not need any additional hardware (other than a 24v 40mm fan) to install.
Instruções
Print Directions:
- Sliced in Simplify 3d with these settings:
- 200 micron, 2 shells, 20% infill, gray PLA printed @ 200 deg.
- Designed to not need any supports.
Install Instructions:
- You'll need a 40mm x 10mm fan, 24v + connectors / long wires.
- Remove the left M3 bolt from the stepstruder fan: Remove the black plastic standoff between the fan and the radiator.
- Insert the cooler where the standoff used to be: Re-insert the M3 bolt and tighten as normal.
- I connected my fan with a few small zip-ties, then did a border of hot-glue just to seal it up. But if you have your own M3 bolts, holes are provided.
- Run the +- leads from the fan around the existing wiring harness (or in the harness) to the "Extra" terminal on the Mightyboard (near a corner).
- Be sure to enable cooling in your slicer!
