Modelo 3D Lightfoil por vladone97 no Thingiverse

Descrição

This is my modification of the famous collapsible pirate sword, specifically the removable blade version with an unscrewable end cap. I turned it into a lightfoil from Star Wars. What's a lightfoil, you ask? It's basically a rapier-style lightsabre, pretty obscure piece of lore. It comes from the Star Wars tabletop RPG, which I haven't played. But from what I could gather, the in-universe explaination is that it was invented by an ancient Sith order specifically for the Makashi style of lightsabre combat, then some hotheaded nobles calling themselves "sabre rakes" came up their own versions that didn't require the Force to operate so they could duel with them, while the out-of-universe explaination is that it serves as a way for players to use a lightsabre with different stats.

The modifications I made are pretty simple. First, I elongated the model to bring it to the size of an adult-sized sword (that is to say, the size of an adult-sized real sword, not toy sword). Then I added a crossguard under the complex handguard (quick explaination: on rapiers and similar swords, underneath the complex handguard there is a crossguard for the user to put their index finger over, this allows for better control over the blade). I also made another version of the end cap, more rounded and without the 3D Printing World logo.

Pro tip: put some scotch tape inside the first blade segment, right at the end. Because I elongated the model, the first and second segments ended up with too little overlap, so the second segment might end up coming out of the first one when you mess around with it. I don't have the skills or resources to fine-tune the entire model and solve this issue.

Pro tip #2: if you decide to print the modified end cap that bulges out more, print it in the same colour as the blade rather than the hilt. It will end up looking like a gemstone pommel, which is kind of fitting since lightfoils are supposed to be ornate and everything.
