The outer dimensions are automatically determined by the inner dimensions, your printer’s tolerance settings, and wall thickness, allowing for a tailored fit to your specific printer.

Key Features:

• Tight or Loose Fit Options: Choose between a tight-fitting lid without snaps for smaller printer tolerances, or a loosely fitting lid with sliding snaps. The tight fit provides a friction hold, ideal for when a more secure enclosure is needed.
• Snap Flexibility: For optimal snap functionality, it’s recommended to keep the wall thickness thin enough to allow for slight flexing of the base. Thicker walls may hinder the operation of snaps, so a friction fit is preferred in those cases.
• Fine-Tuning for Your Printer: Test prints are highly recommended to adjust settings like tolerance and overlap. A tolerance setting of +0.15mm offers a very snug fit on my printer, but this may vary depending on your setup. Additionally, increasing the lid_box_overlap (variable) can improve the friction fit.
