Modular Storage System Spring-Locking Latch Replacement
Note: This is an independently designed part not affiliated with or endorsed by any specific brand.
Description:
Images: - Custom Replacement part (available as 3MF file) in White - Red only for reference
I created this replacement latch for a popular modular storage system after encountering a missing spring and latch on my small cooler unit. The design is inspired by, but not identical to, the latch found on the ammo box/crate component of the same system.
This 3D printable model is designed to replace injection-molded original parts, which are often unavailable as separate replacements. It offers a solution for those unable or unwilling to send their unit to a service center for repair.
Important: Storage systems may use different latch designs across their product range. Please verify compatibility before printing.
This should work for milwaukee ammobox and small cooler
Installation Guide:
- Acquire a spring matching these specifications:
- Length: 34mm
- Inner Diameter (ID): 9mm
- Outer Diameter (OD): 12mm
- Place the spring over the peg on the topside of the printed latch.
- Carefully insert the latch into the designated slot on your storage unit.
- With the unit inverted, apply firm, even pressure with your thumbs until the latch snaps into place.
The model is provided in 3MF format. You'll need to import this file into your preferred 3D printing software for slicing and printing setup.
Note: I originally modeled the wrong part, the flat latch that is used in the first aid box. If you want this, leave a comment. It has not been tested/verified for accuracy.
> Caution: This is a crucial component for secure closure. Ensure proper installation and regularly check for wear or damage. Use at your own risk.
