BOTC Custom Script Storage & Token Creation Tools

Box and Box Insert

For a storage option for custom scripts, I have a 3D printed box insert that is compatible with the following box options.

  1. Mailer Boxes - 12x9x2 inch Small Shipping Boxes (ASIN B0CHJN8QPG)
  2. Proto Game Boxes – A prototype box from (boardgamesmaker.com) with internal dimensions of (294 x 233 x 38 mm) The 3D printed insert is compatible with either box option. In general, the Mailer Boxes are very low cost, and the Proto Game Boxes are very high quality.

I also added a sheet protector to the outside of the box that displays the script. In addition to this I include a slightly larger sheet protector inside of the box that keeps the scripts all together. I just cut off the 3-hole white tab. The two types of sheet protectors that I use are

  1. Office Depot – Heavy-Weight sheet protectors
  2. Office Depot – Multi-Page Capacity sheet protectors

The box insert was initially designed to hold one token box and one script. It can be flipped over to hold up to three boxes as an option.

Token Creation

There are a lot of popular DIY methods for making fan made clocktower tokens. This is one of the easiest options I have found. Materials

  1. Blank Tokens from studioCee on Etsy (1” & 1 ¾”) https://studiocee.etsy.com/listing/1742322437
  2. Avery Matte White Round Labels with Sure Feed, 1.75" diameter
  3. Avery Matte White Round Labels with Sure Feed, 1" diameter
  4. 3D printed assembly jig This is a fairly streamlined process in that the mesheshe felt and chip board are already bonded and cut. They are compatible with (1” & 1 ¾”) circular stickers. The only trick left is to line up the token art with a template for the stickers. The assembly jig is helpful in getting the sticker concentric with the blank token.

3D Printing

A quick note on how tight the lid will fit. There are a lot of factors that contribute to how tightly the lid will fit on top of the box. It is difficult to predict how this will work on your end give all of the variables. Given this I have included two different sets of files for a tighter and looser lid fit. It is recommended that you perform some trial runs to see which file sets work best for your setup. From there is easy to loosen up the lid with a little bit of sanding or tighten up a lid by shimming it up with a thin layer of glue.

PLA is the recommended material for most hobbyist projects but be careful, the components can easily warp if stored in a hot car.

Short Box

I have also added a variant of a shorter box that has one fewer cavities. The idea here is that you could combine the Minion & Demon tokens into one position. The advantage of the shorter token box is the files are compatible with smaller hobbyist sized 3D printers.
