Descrição

Bookmarks are extremely useful, yet an awful lot of bookmarks appear to be designed by people who never actually tried to use them. They are big, annoying, have to be removed from the book if you want to read, squeeze or damage pages, and cause random outbreaks of bubonic plague to occur.

A proper bookmark should be thin enough so that you can read even if it marks a specific page. It needs to be long enough to stay in place, but short enough not to be annoying. With these things in mind, I set out to make a good bookmark I could use. I added the following rules for myself: The bookmark should be easy to print; it shouldn't be one-sided (I broke this rule with the Pixelated Guy), and it should be creative.

All bookmarks with "Rotating" in the name can rotate in one way or another. These are a bit sensitive to over-extrusion and elephant's foot. I advise you to tune down your initial layer flow a bit. Most aren't that sensitive, but depending on the precision of your printer, you might require some careful massaging of the moving parts. Special mention of the rotating smiley... this bugger is very sensitive to elephant's foot despite having a 0.5 mm gap. I had to use a bit of force to get the smiley to turn.

As for the Kanji... I first named them properly with Japanese symbols, but that caused my Slicer to crash. I consulted a Japanese friend, and she assured me that they were good. Then she insisted that I make one saying cat, despite cats not having anything to do with books; in fact, cats are often quite detrimental to the entire reading process, most likely due to a lack of understanding of the very purpose of reading. 呪 (noroi) = curse or hex 本 = book 猫 (neko) = cat

Chains... we have three chains. The "Chain thingy" requires your printer to be tuned properly; often you can massage it a bit to make it work properly. The other chains have greater tolerances and should be easier to print.

If you have suggestions for additional bookmarks, symbols, images, etc., please make it known by making a comment. Unless it's too arduous, I will make an attempt to make it happen.
