This requires a larger format printer, at least 310mm print bed.
I found these stencils here at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5491766 and thought they were gorgeous and wanted to use them.
I also used a small version of these on the clock https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6470019
I appear to have a thing for printing clocks (I have 21 on my clock wall) and so decided to design my own clock using these stencils. I wanted the clock to make these images celestial and star constellations and I think I succeeded.
This uses standard 5050 LED lights you can get from Amazon for $10 here... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1CBG47V
You need to print 2 of the LED plates, one should get printed in transparent PLA or white for use as the diffuser. I printed mine in transparent and added a single coat of snow white acrylic paint.
One plate contains the LED's and after my first try, I realized to get the effect I wanted I needed a lot of LED lights. See picture. Be careful making turns so as not to cover any other LED lights. I used around 15-20 feet of 5050 LED tape in total.
I redesigned the control box so it is larger. Every time I order LED's of any kind they always have different control modules, different sizes...this box fits all of them.
Use supports for the control box only, the rest does not require them.
