The original is here https://thangs.com/designer/3dprintingworld/3d-model/Collapsing%20Lightsaber-23595
I have printed several of these over the last couple of years and always wanted to be able to carry one upside down without the blade extending. I developed an iris to close the emitter when the user does not wish it to be extended.
You need to print the following:
1 x LIGHTSABER-HILT-mix.stl** Either LIGHTSABER-BLADE.stl or the 5 Vase-Mode blades (printed individually) 1 x Iris_Iris_v2_Top-Gear.stl 6 x Iris_Iris_v2_latch.stl 1 x SaberCapMix.stl
The end of the Hilt has 6 posts for the iris latches. those are to be snapped in place with their posts facing upwards. Each latch is rotated inwards in an overlapping fashion before the Gear lid is snapped into place.
The blades are then dropped into the read of the hilt, with the cap threaded on to hold the blades inside the hilt.
**I sliced my hilt at the end so that the hilt could be oriented facing down (which is what the original creator designed it for) while separating the latch sockets to their own piece. I have included IrisLightsaberBundle.stl and a picture of my tray in PrusaSlicer (along with the 4 small dowels for reassembly) to show what I mean.
Good Luck, Have fun
