Descrição
This is a design to help regulate voltage use which consists of a switch for the main power source and a potentiometer to adjust the output voltage. This can be used as a static designed attached to the side of your work bench giving you full voltage control from a DC socket.
My use case
Designed to allow me to control a hand held motor (my next project) for cutting / sanding 3D parts.

Parts:
- 1 x LED light
- 1 x 390 Ohm resistor
- 1 x 10K Potentiometer: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07WQG1RNZ
- 2 x Dc Power connectors: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BY161TY7
- 1 x Toggle Switch: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07J4KB38W
- 1 x MOSFET transistor: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B096FH2FJS
- 1 x 4cm x 6cm Prototype board: (Product unavailable but something similar) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B074X2GDH2
Materials used:
- 18 AWG Solid Wire: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B085TP7G5B
- 4 x M4 Thread Inserts + bolts
- 4 x M2.5 Thread inserts + bolts (NOTE: I already have 4 screws / bolts and the following link will not provide the necessary bolts needed). Bolts: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09BG4Z2V1 Thread inserts: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09PBJHMND
Prepping the Box:
- Print container
- I am still learning so I am not quite sure if supports are needed or not but I just did them any ways.
- Print container side panel
- No supports required
- May need some sanding just for it to fit smoothly into the container
- Insert the four M4 insertable threads.
- Insert the M2.5 insertable threads
- I never managed to print so the holes aligned up so I just used one of the four threads instead.
Prepping the electronics:
For soldering, follow the below diagram

Key notes:
- Circles represent the component cables slotting into the board
- Green: Switch
- Dark Blue: MOSFET Transistor
- Light Blue: Potentiometer
- Gold: Resistor
- Yellow: LED
- Red: Positive wires
- Black: Negative wires
- White: The underside solder to connect two spots.
Upgrade ideas:
- Digital display to view the Voltage
Next steps:
- Building a small hand tool (similar to a dremel tool)
Enjoy!
