Do you have a mechanical keyboard with Cherry switches? Do you think that your keyboard can need some colour? Look no further and spice-up your keyboard with a Rubik's Cube Keycap.
This cube is 18 x 18 x18 mm and fits most Cherry-style switches. I tested the keycap with Keychron, Ducky, Epomaker and Akko keyboards. They had switches from Cherry, Gateron & Akko and all did fit. If the keycap action feels notchy or sticky it can help to rotate the keycap by 90° or even 180° (the stem is flat on two sides). You can sand the stem on the outside to optimize the fit.
The print is a little bit delicate because of the small size. Print it slowly (50mm/s for outer walls and top surface) and use a low layer height. Support is needed for the stem only. I used 0.1 layer, 3 walls, 5 tops, 4 bottoms and 8% gyroid infill. Set all the line widths to 0.42mm with a 0.4mm nozzle to get the fine details. Reducing acceleration and jerk helps to get a quality print result. See my 3mf file for Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer for more details.
Print the tiles seperatly and glue them in place. I recommend you print 2x 9 tiles for each colour to have some spares. The tiny tiles like to get lost before assembly.
The print was successfully tested on a Bambu Lab P1S and an Anycubic I3 Mega.
