Descrição
This is a precision mirror mount, like you'd use in a poor man's optics lab. The openscad is fully parametric.
Adjustments are made by a screw pulling against a spring.
Suggested hardware: 10x6x1mm compression spring (easy to find online) M4x15 nylon screw (non-marring setscrew) M3x20 SS socket-head (adjuster) M3, M4 SS nut
Of course, when printed in PLA / PETG, it may not live up to very demanding precision, like in an interferometer. I may tinker with kinematic versions later, but I'm expecting any and all plastic mounts to suffer from cold creep and generally fail at long term stability and temperature cycling, in fact those problems will get a lot worse if you move the springs off the adjuster axis. So I'm not expecting kinematics be an improvement, on balance.
Nevertheless, eventually I'll probably setup a test (autocollimator or similar) and show benchmarks.
If you need cheaper than solid steel posts, the scad supports a clamp method. I'd suggest sourcing 12mm OD aluminum tube stock. You can just cut that to length when needed, and print your mounts with 12mm ID clamps. Speaking of which, I have printable post holders in the pipeline...
Updates 8/18/2023:
- Added flange option
- Added imperial hardware (as if anyone would want that)
- Added bevel option so that supports are not needed
- Other misc
