I made this spring to prevent the Z Axis from dropping onto the motor of my MakerGear M2. An added advantage, theoretically, is that the placement of the spring removes some of the bed/motor weight from the Z Axis screw and support rods.

I attempted to print this without tape or hairspray, but the ends curled. I added a raft to the code and it printed fine. You may not need to raft if your adhesive is correct.
