All the links are compatible, so to get the exact height you want, you might want to use a combination of base and piston length. This is probably not strong enough to be an adjustable leg for a shelf or something. But it does have places for screw holes. I designed it because I had a floppy monitor and I wanted to be able to screw it out and adjust the angle of the monitor since the spring no longer held it at a specific set angle.
