The mounting bracket for the finder scope of my 8 inch (cheap Chinese) Newtonian telescope was simply far too small, and has never been really stable. This bracket significantly increases the footprint, and makes the finder scope mounting entirely stable. This requires that this plastic bracket is properly glued to the telescope tube, since the mounting screws alone does not bring sufficient stability (especially so since they are only secured in the thin tin telescope wall).

The bracket can readily be adopted for other dimensions via the Openscad design.

Made to be printed standing, with no support needed. I used PLA.

After test-mounting on the telescope, once a suitable position is found where aiming is aligned, I definitely found it necesary to glue the bracket to the telescope tube. This requires the bracket to be removed once again to apply the glue. I used two component epoxy glue for this purpose. To ensure enough time to check that aiming is still good, I would recommend using a glue that does not set immediately.
