This is a simple mechanism to move your mouse so that it shows that you are always active on your computer. If you are in a pinch, know that there are programs and apps online that will do this for you, but if you like to tinker, try this project out.

The motor I used was 25K RPM, so I designed the gearbox to step it down to 8 RPM, but it actually operates at 2 RPM. So it is slow, but it does a good job and it is fun to watch the gearbox step down the speed between gears.

I printed at .2 layer height, only used supports for the mouse apparatus, used super glue for most assembly (including the small caps to keep the crank arm on), mounted the motor/battery pack with double-sided tape, of course soldered the wiring, and finally I used petroleum and almond oil to lubricate the gears.

Overall it's an easy little project if you have the parts for it.
