A easily printable minimalist wall stand for a katana or bokken (v2)

Designed to hold a bokken or an iaito (a metal katana) up to 1.5 kg total*

Recommendations

I glued a 1 mm thick strip of soft felt on the stand where it touches the saya (see pictures). It protects the lacquer on the saya from scratches, and improves the quality feel of the stand.

Secure Mounting

• I used four (4) narrow 3M Command mounting strips for mounting. Two strips per side.
  • The package advertises that four strips are rated for 5.4 kg, when hanging picture frames, but really, don't exeed 1,5 kg*.
• Follow the instructions on the instructions on the package.
• Make sure the surfaces are clean before applying the strips.

You alone are responsible for the security of your installations.

*) I don't recommend exceeding 1.5 kg total by much. That includes the weight of the saya (the scabbard) and any accessories you may have installed. Previous version had mounting strips rated for 3.6 kg and it was easy to accidentally knock loose by accident. This is much more secure. Even so, I wouldn't call it child proof.

For refrence: my iaito weights 1,1 kg without the saya and 1,4 kg with the saya.
