External Drive Storage for use as Direct or Network accessed devices. Stack-able Trays Interlock to allow expansion. This is designed to be a NAS box. Tray cases accommodate Optical drives as well. Each Tray can hold one 3.5 inch hard drive or two 2.5 inch hard drive using the Insert trays or one optical drive. Simple Faceplate door incloses and locks the Hard Drive tray in place. I'm uploading basic bottom and top covers since I have not yet finished the Power and Electronics trays. I will upload my thoughts and designs for the electronics on a separate "Thing" upload, things like Mini ATX board or Sata Port Multiplier and even simple USB Adapters with USB HUB. This is a time consuming print but the results are worth it. Make sure you cut vent holes into Bottom and Top covers to allow air flow. The Bottom and Top covers are just simple items until I come up with Power and Electronics case solutions, Stay tuned!
The "interlock" is glued, I use Gorilla Super Glue, to the bottom of Top and bottom of each Case, remember to keep it centered. The Tray Lock bars are optional, you can use snips of 3mm filament as pins but I used screws since I don't plan on removing drive from tray anytime soon. If you plan to use 2.5 inch drive you should always use screws.
