This is a base that can snap on to any standard Battletech Hex base to indicate what team the mech is on. Its designed to solve the problem of too many grey or inconsistently painted mechs on the table.

I've got young kids and as much as I'd like to spend time painting everything pretty... It ain't gonna happen. I've probably got 40+ 15 year old black primed mechs and 15 paint jobs from 20 years ago that are nothing to be proud of. This lets me mix and match whatever on the table and its still clear from a glance who is on what team. Enjoy!
