Most ceiling fan/light combos use the candelabra bulb fitting. I wanted to use those color changing smart bulbs. But they only come in the standard large base. So, I bought the adapter. But now the original globe no longer fits since the bulb is too big and protrudes beyond the depth of the globe. Solution was to design a new shade or globe to fit the fan and accommodate the bulb. Looks more modern also.
