Descrição
A small air compressor/ pump that can be made to run off of usb. it makes about 1.25psi on usb and may make more at higher voltages or with a larger motor. the motor options are a 380 or 450 motor(540 vtwin ). the first version is all plastic on metal running parts but seams to hold up decently , time will tell how well tho .
bearing upgrades : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6329881
I have a few plan in mind for this as well as having them as a good backup for my aquariums and other systems requiring air pumps .
this pump moves more air than a standard small aquarium air pump , and should be suited for air assist on an engraver , or maybe as a remote cooling system .
materials: all printed parts ( a few head options available) 6mm dia stainless straw, ( acquired from dollar store or wherever .) 8pc m3 x 6 cap screws 4pc m3 x 20 cap screws 2pc m4x4 screws 1pc m4x20 cap screw for wrist pin 5pc m4 hardware for flywheel 2pc m8 setscrews for counterweight.
cut the straw with one piece 73mm long , for the crank shaft and 24mm for the connecting rod shaft.
gaskets can be printed, or cut on a laser engraver/cutter, reed valve needs to be flexible, the rest can be paper. the cut size for the engraver are 40mm square after cropping.
the cylinder requires fitting to the piston , more or less the print lines need to be sanded out .
depending on your printer you may need to clear the bushings with a 6mm drill .
I plan to updated the drawings for bearings throughout that update will be up shortly but it works pretty good in the current sate .
