Descrição

I was having trouble with part strength and kept breaking the locking tabs on the handle and gear insert pieces so I redesigned those as Print in Place assemblies. If your printer is not tuned to print PIP parts then don't just download and start printing. Spend some time reading about PIP settings and get your printer ready to do it.

You can print the whole thing without support, however, you may want to use Support Blocker when printing the base so the upper latch prints well, see picture.

I printed the gears and the tri-key at 100% infill for strength and the rest at 30% infill.

I made two tubes for quarters as that's what I most often have in my pocket.

12/31/22 - Updates

  • Changed the seat of the crank handle to be a flat base. the tri-key was over stressed by the gap. Also updated the tri-key by removing its' shoulder. Now the little gear and the crank seat will be in contact when glued together making a much stronger joint.

  • Added a cog to the coin tubes to keep them from rotating in the base.

1/16/23 - Separated PIP Files Uploaded

  • A couple people asked for separated PIP files. Those four files have been uploaded so you can change the PIP tolerances for yourself. They are not intended to be printed out as they will not be usable as is.

2/4/23 - New 2 Piece Adjustable Funnel Design

  • I redesigned the funnel to make it adjustable in order to help account for various machine settings that have been brought to my attention. To use it correctly, the funnel needs to be set at the correct height for the thickest coin, a 50 cent piece. Once assembled, place a 50 cent piece under the exit side of the funnel. It should be half inside and half outside the funnel like it just started getting pushed out by the large gear. With the coin in place, lightly press the funnel slide down until it is touching the top face of the coin. Now glue the funnel slide in that position. This should prevent two dimes from getting sorted on top of each other by using the edge of the funnel as a swipe. This new funnel assembly "should" fit onto the existing pieces so if you have already printed this and just need the funnel, you shouldn't need to print everything again, just the two pieces of the new funnel.
