Descrição
An attempt to decrease the plastic volume and part count to the Huxley as well as simplify assembly. I am making everything M3 & 1/4" but it should work with M6 as well.
This project is mostly abandoned -- don't have the time to properly complete it.
Current build status: Mostly assembled, but trying out x-axis alternatives. Will update parts as I revise my build.
To do:
- assemble extruder
- compare x-axis alternatives
My parts: 2-way bar-clamp x8 belt-clamp x4 butterfly-motor-coupling x4 carriage x1 pulley x2 vertex/leveling-vertex x4 x-motor x1 x-idler x1 y-bushing-holder x4 y-motor x1 z-motor-vertex x2
Rusty parts: board-clamp x4 bushings x12
Part descriptions: belt-clamp
- changed dimensions
- changing holes and traps to M3 (currently a little tight)
butterfly-motor-coupling new
- coupling for z axis motors and threaded rods based on Rob's Auto-centering shaft coupler (http://reprap.org/wiki/Auto-centering_shaft_coupler)
carriage
- thickened fan mount area of carriage
- changing holes and traps to M3 (currently a little tight)
pulley
- modified nut-trap, created hole to slide in assembled screw + nut
vertex new
- simplified vertex
x-motor
- nut traps changed to M3 with hole to slide in assembled screw + nut
- threaded rod traps changed to 1/4"-20
- reduced height & size (3 hole motor mounting)
x-idler
- nut traps changed to M3 with hole to slide in assembled screw + nut
- threaded rod traps changed to 1/4"-20
- reduced height
y-bushing-holder
- removed wings, added nut trap to center (trap currently a little tight)
y-motor
- reduced height & size (3 hole motor mounting)
z-motor-vertex
- combined z-top-motor with vertex
- thickened bar mounting clip (need to beef up underside by smooth rods, make other minor tweaks)
Optional/alternative parts: leveling-vertex new
- use instead of normal vertexes
- insert M3 nut & M3x8 screw for leveling
M3 rosette thumb screw new
- fits onto head of M3 bolt
