Descrição
This is a very simple remix of the basic printable spool holder by JadeKnight 3066
I like designing in OpenScad so I have converted to that.
I am aiming to use wooden dowel as I think that will be cheapest.
I am interested in the form of construction as I think you could make more things with this technique. I am thinking of some bottle holders and shelves for plastic boxes.
##Improvements
- the join between the two sockets could be symmetrical which would be more beautiful.
- the top sockets could be redesigned to make it just sit in and easy to change
- I might design a widget to feed the filament through so that it can be wiped on a tissues to make sure it is clean. I dropped one reel on the ground in the garden so double important for me.
Instruções
Pretty straightforward. You need 3 left handed parts and 3 right handed parts. You need to buy in some dowelling.
The pine dowelling at Homeabase was a nominal 9mm but measured as 8.4 to 8.75 (it looked rounder than I measured). I made the measurements for 9mm and it was a push fit without any rework on finishing. :)
I set the angle to 60 degrees and made all the pieces of dowelling the same length. (Except one piece I made as a test piece and I had set the depth of the socket to be 3 times the diameter of the rod, 2 seems fine and makes for smaller parts.)
On my Ormerod it took about half a day to print off the bits.
